Chatting with mates in a cafe, I noticed the waitress wander over to take our order.
‘What can I get you?’she asked.
Only, she barely looked my way.
Instead, she only spoke to my friends as she wrote down our lunch order.
‘I can talk, you know,’ I sighed, exasperated.
Sadly, being ignored was a common occurrence.
‘I have Moebius syndrome,’ I explained.
A congenital neurological condition causing paralysis of my facial muscles.
