Last year during lockdown Kim found she had more time after being furloughed and decided to start a veg plot and enjoyed a bumper first year.

Do you have an allotment or a garden veg patch?

I have a vegetable patch and various spaces around my garden that I have made use of to grow as much as I could during lockdown and beyond.

How long have you been growing veg?

Last year was my first growing fruit and vegetables. We only moved into the property in 2019 and one of the reasons was because I have always wanted to attempt gardening and it had a small vegetable patch in the garden.

Why did you start growing your own produce?

It was something I had always wanted to do, but never had the space. But since finding a property with an existing vegetable plot I started early in the year, and was further encouraged by the national lockdown which not only gave me a ton of time after being furloughed from work, but I also felt that learning this skill was extremely important to ensure my family had fresh fruit and vegetables throughout the pandemic.
