ANY BIKE CAN TOUR

We know that any bike can tour, as your magazine has recorded.

Vast distances have been covered by the most unlikely machines.

We have to define touring a bit more. If you go from hotel to hotel in an organised tour where all is done for you, that may float your boat. Any machine will just about cover it.

To my mind, touring is getting off the ferry and heading in a direction with a vague goal in mind and see what happens. Some days there will be lots of miles, others could be very few.

My bike then becomes really important that it has to carry loads of kit.

So in conclusion, ‘you can tour on anything’ is only correct up
