SUPERSIZED SPIDERWEB

A spectacular spiderweb has residents in an American town spooked due to its gigantic size. An employee at the Missouri Department of Conservation posted a picture of the web with some Facebook users claiming it appeared big enough to catch a human. The delicate, circular web was constructed between two trees and suspected to have been the creation of an orb weaver spider, a species well-known for its intricate webs. According to the department’s website, the orb weaver spider is large in size, measuring approximately half-an-inch for females, and helps control other pesky insects, such as, flies.
