SUPERSIZED SPIDERWEB
A spectacular spiderweb has residents in an American town spooked due to its gigantic size. An employee at the Missouri Department of Conservation posted a picture of the web with some Facebook users claiming it appeared big enough to catch a human. The delicate, circular web was constructed between two trees and suspected to have been the creation of an orb weaver spider, a species well-known for its intricate webs. According to the department’s website, the orb weaver spider is large in size, measuring approximately half-an-inch for females, and helps control other pesky insects, such as, flies. The image of the giant spiderweb resulted in mixed reactions from one social media user describing it as “the kind that literally ‘catch’ people if they walk through them
