Introduction
UberFacts is the brainchild of social media addict/professional procrastinator Kris Sanchez—I originally started finding facts because I didn’t want to study for a history exam my freshman year of college. Needless to say, I didn’t pass the exam, never finished college, and this book almost didn’t happen.
While searching for random facts about the number of insects on Earth or how honeybees reproduce isn’t what you’d expect your average 18-year-old college student to do in his free time, it definitely paid off.
UberFacts now has more than 16 million followers across its social profiles and is dedicated to sharing the most bizarre, unimportant, and mind-boggling pieces of information anyone could ever ask for. The goal is to make learning fun, keep it light, and get readers genuinely interested in learning more about our weird world. The facts also make great icebreakers and can help you out on a bad date (believe me, I’m experienced when it comes to bad dates).
Of course, this intro wouldn’t be complete without some shameless promotion, so make sure you find UberFacts on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram! If you'd like to find out more fun facts, or dig deeper into the sources that this book consulted, visit uber-facts.com/sources.
