HIGH TECH TOILET
A team of scientists claim to have launched a smart toilet that can identify the user’s bottom and monitor the health of their waste. Sanjiv Gambhir, lead researcher at Stanford University, believes the Precision Health toilet will be able to detect “a range of disease markers in stool and urine.” Using cameras and motion sensors, the technologically advanced toilet can also recognise fingerprints from the flush lever and analyse the consistency of each individual’s waste via scientific algorithms. In terms of urination, the toilet can even study “flow rate, stream time and total volume.” Admitting that the invention seems somewhat weird, Gambhir supported the potential health benefits, adding, “Everyone uses the bathroom – there’s really no avoiding it –
