BATHROOM GOES BOOM
A Florida family received the ultimate surprise when their toilet was struck by lightning and exploded inside their home. Marylou Ward recalled a loud boom when the lightning hit causing the toilet to shatter. Ward explained, “the toilet was laying on the floor... There’s all pieces everywhere.” The strange strike affected the home’s indoor plumbing system and destroyed the septic tank with the family saying they were lucky no one was using the bathroom at the time. A local plumber suggested the lightning may have ignited the methane gas inside the septic tank, thus, causing the blast.
