Covid-19 HAMMERS MENTAL HEALTH

The Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic has placed a spotlight on mental health as it leaves an indelible impact on healthcare workers and citizens alike. As South Africa continues to observe Mental Health Awareness Month, mental health experts, healthcare workers and companies operating in the sector have spoken about the impact Covid-19 has had, not only on a national level, but also on individuals, and they also highlight the faultlines it has exposed in the country’s response to mental health.

The consensus seems to be that we will most likely soon see the psychological fall-out of both the pandemic and the national lockdown among people in all strata of our society.
