THE INSIDE STORY
OTI MABUSE IT TAKES TWO AS HUSBAND MARIUS JOINS DANCE CLASS
The rehearsal studio may be off limits at the moment, but Strictly Come Dancing pro Oti Mabuse and her husband, fellow dancer Marius Iepure have been taking steps to keep kids moving as they adjust to a whole new routine.
The pair have danced together professionally outside the show and finally got to do so on screen – albeit minus the sequins – thanks to their hit Home Festival free online dance classes. Set up with Karen Hauer and her partner David Webb, the project has been a huge success.
Calling the response “really humbling”, Oti told how being in hold with her husband of three years had brought them even closer together, despite the challenge of choreographing routines for kids (and adults) who may never have danced before. “It’s been so special,” she said.
The initiative has also given fans a sneak peak at domestic life as the classes are filmed in the living room of their London home (right). And it could beto return in the autumn within social-distancing guidelines.
