THE INSIDE STORY
THE DUCHESS OF CORNWALL SUPPORTS CHA-CHA-CHARITY AUCTION
With a son, Tom, and a daughter, Laura, the Duchess of Cornwall (left) knows how special it is to be a mum – it’s a title she held long before being granted her royal ones. Which is why, this Mother’s Day, she is not only helping to treat other mothers, but in doing so is also paying tribute to her own, by supporting the latest fundraiser for the Royal Osteoporosis Society (ROS).
Camilla became involved with the society after losing her mum Rosalind to the disease in 1994, something she said left her “completely devastated”. She has been its president since 2001, and has donated one of the lots in the charity’s Mother’s Day Auction & Raffle: a tour of her London home, Clarence House, for six people.
Other experiences up for grabs include a champagne afternoon tea (below), and a dance lesson with ROS ambassador Craig Revel Horwood. The Duchess herself has hit the dancefloor with the Strictly judge several times, and after their impromptu cha-cha-cha at a primary school in 2009 (left), he revealed: “Her timing is perfect.”
