A tumour the size of a tennis ball
Making my way upstairs to check on my newborn, Josiah, I felt my head spin. Clinging on to the banister to steady myself, I stood there for what must have been a few seconds before the light-headedness passed. Then I headed up to my bedroom where he was fast asleep.
It was August 2000 and like any new mum I was busy – busy feeding, busy changing nappies – and so very tired. And so that’s what I put the dizzy spells down to.
They continued over the next few weeks, before eventually dying down. Then, less than a year later, in July 2001, I fell pregnant again.
