WILD WEST

I'm a S7-year-old postie who's had a bike licence for 40 years and rides a '97 ERS. I'm loathe to give it up (it once took me to the Outer Hebrides, and got me home again with a dodgy head gasket) and all it lacks are panniers - the 1997 ERS was the only one without an off-the-peg luggage frame, hence I travel with a backpack, tailpack and tankbag. Meanwhile, my better half Jenny achieved her full licence just over a year ago and has a 10-year-old ENS - same engine as the ER, but a cruiser. This one's a US import ... and it has panniers.
