CAMEMBERT CHEESECAKE WITH BACON RELISH
Tower of delight
A delicious and impressive starter for when you’re relaxing by the campfire.
Ingredients
(serves 8)
2 tablespoons olive oil
200 g bacon bits
2 red onions, finely chopped
½ cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon sherry
1 tablespoon honey
1 whole chilli
2 wheels camembert
Here’s how
1 Heat the olive oil in a pan and fry the bacon bits until crisp. Spoon the cooked bacon from the pan, but retain the fragrant oil. Now, slowly fry the onion in the oil until soft and shiny. (If the onions brown too quickly, add ½ cup of water.)
in the cooked bacon bits, sugar, vinegar, sherry, honey and chilli and stir until the sugar has melted.
