Astrology for The New Age
The transits shown in the sidebar this month should remind us that, as someone no doubt said at some point during the long sweep of human history, things ain’t all of a piece. We will spend this month’s column looking into the vagaries of human experience, which will, I hope, reveal something about what astrology seems pretty good at: sorting out experience.
At the same time, we may eschew relationship possibilities that either do not promise safety or that do not emphasize it – possibilities that may include adventure, or risk-taking, or casual connections with others. As Cancer does not typically cotton to those kinds of things (so to speak), we may not gravitate toward them during Venus’ sojourn in Cancer – or, at least, the Venusin-Cancer “influence” (so-called) will lure us in quite another direction. Thus, though we may find security or close connections with others, our actions may have what economists would call opportunity costs: we may miss out on some kinds of value even as we cultivate others, and we will miss out on them – if we do, of course,
