Astrology for The New Age
Signs (and Planets) of the Times
Before going into this month’s transit-to-natal discussion, let’s note a few interesting, and likely important, astrological events. First, transiting Saturn reenters Capricorn on July 1. He has spent most of the last two years in that sign, the one he rules, and though he entered Aquarius in mid-March, he only got up to about 2 degrees of that sign before turning retrograde in the second week of May. Now he will spend another five-and-a-half months in Capricorn, turning direct at 25 degrees of that sign on September 29, returning to Aquarius on December 17, and then finally remaining in that sign for approximately two-and-a-half years. Aquarius has a close connection to Saturn, of course, as the 11th sign was long considered one of Saturn’s two dignities. After Uranus was discovered in 1781, astrologers eventually designated it as the ruler of Aquarius.
The older, traditional rulers of signs still seem to function even after astrologers assign a new ruler, as they have done in the case of Uranus as new ruler of Aquarius and traditional ruler of Saturn; Neptune as new ruler of Pisces (traditional ruler: Jupiter); and Pluto as new ruler of Scorpio
