- The Frankenstein Journals
1
Fourteen-year-old J.D. discovers why he never fit in at the creepy orphanage -- he's the son of Frankenstein's monster! The boy always wanted a big family. Now he's got a doozy: the donors of his jigsaw puzzle-papa! Fans of adventure and classic monster movies will gasp with delight as they follow J.D. through this diary-style thriller. Old photos, maps, artifacts, and entries from the mad scientist's own journals will plunge the reader into J.D.'s quest to track down his Frankenstein family. But will he be in time? A shadowy stalker seeks the journals -- and J.D. -- to build a new, more powerful monster!
- A Pain in the Butt
J.D. is the fourteen-year-old son of the notorious monster of Frankenstein, on a quest to find his family . . . the donors of his dad’s parts. In New York City J.D. discovers a cousin, Bertie, who is extremely rich and likes sitting on his butt and doing nothing all day. Speaking of butts, that’s how J.D. is related to Bertie – through Frankenstein’s monster’s butt! Now Bertie is in danger. Fran is desperate to get her hands on a cousin and has enlisted the help of the Werewolf and the Invisible Man! But can J.D. convince the slacker Bertie that he really is related to an adventurer like J.D. and that the threat is genuine? Readers will be swept up in the story’s use of maps, diary entries, and mixed media images as J.D. and Bertie go on the run through the streets of the Big Apple.
- The Frankenstein Journals: I For an Eye
J.D., the fourteen-year-old son of the notorious Frankenstein monster, comes into possession of the original mad scientist's secret journal. Clues lead him to the donor of his dad's right eye: a world famous detective from the 1940s whose grandson is now a detective himself. It's a good thing J.D. has inherited the sleuth's super skills, (along with his pale blue eye), because he also accidentally stumbles into his cousin-detective's most difficult case. And J. D. becomes the prime suspect! Readers will unscramble the pieces of the story through diary entries, mixed media images, and diagrams of mad science. Because if the young Frankenstein can't solve the crime, he'll be locked up for the rest of his strange, unnatural life!
- No Guts, No Gloria
Fourteen-year old J.D. is on the hunt – this time for guts! Readers will become immersed in J.D.’s quest through a blend of mixed media images, diary entries, and diagrams as the son of Frankenstein’s monster searches for the contributor of his dad’s large intestines. The clues lead him to his cousin, Gloria. Members of Gloria’s family have always had one job – to be a bodyguard to an ancient vampire! But after a run-in with the villainous Fran, Gloria is wounded after protecting J.D. Now the Invisible Man has come to town to seek revenge on the Vampire, and Gloria is at risk. If J.D. is going to save the day and his cousin, he’ll need to be brave. The only question is . . . does he have enough guts?
- The Frankenstein Journals: Feet First
Fourteen-year-old J.D. discovers Dr. Frankenstein's Journals -- and that he is the son of Frankenstein's monster! J.D. always wanted a big family. Well, he's got it! -- all the people who made up his dad and their living descendants. Readers will rush headlong through J.D.'s quest in a flurry of mixed media images, maps, charts, and diary entries as he unlocks clues in the mad scientist's journals. When he discovers his dad's feet came from a famous explorer whose grandson is trekking through the wastelands of Antarctica, J.D. sets out to track him down. But he's not alone. Soon, he's in a race against time with a mysterious villain who schemes to collect J.D.'s cousins and use them to build a new monster!
