The world is shaking. Things are changing rapidly, and not for the better.

Wars and rumors of wars. Food shortages and famine. Natural disasters. Destruction. Illness. Disease. Death.
Then there are all our personal stresses and losses. Jobs. Vocations. Careers. Increasing inflation. Diminishing savings. Rising taxes. Crushing debt. Relational conflicts. Family fragmentation. Strained friendships. Estrangements.
Then there's the incredible, painful, and often traumatic loss of people we love and care about - friends, neighbors, family members, siblings, spouses, children, grandchildren.
It can seem like everything is falling apart.
We need to vent about all this. We need to vent in God's direction. Our souls need to cry out to Him - honestly and authentically.
This is what Soul Cry is all about.
Soul Cry is a book of devotional prayers which are grounded in the Bible and designed to connect with your soul. Each chapter contains a prayer based on a Bible verse or passage. These prayers are brief - about 2-3 pages long.
Soul Cry was written for followers of Jesus who are grieving and suffering from all the loss and change in their own lives and in the world around them. The goal of Soul Cry is to help wounded hearts cry out to God amid the pain, chaos, and upheaval that surrounds them.
Soul Cry was designed to be read straight through, one chapter a day. The book contains daily prayers for three months, with 31 prayers for each month.
In essence, Soul Cry is a daily prayer devotional.
Multiple award-winning author Gary Roe is a trusted voice in pastoral counseling and grief recovery that has been bringing help, hope, and healing to wounded hearts for four decades. A former missionary, pastor, and hospice chaplain, Gary has walked with tens of thousands of souls through painful valleys of suffering and loss. The author of more than 20 books, Gary is a sought-after speaker known for his Biblical insights, engaging style, and sense of humor.
Here's what Gary has to say:
"I am follower of Jesus Christ. I come from a background of heavy loss and sexual abuse. I came to Jesus when I was 11 years old. Though I didn't know it, everything changed in that moment.
As losses and wounds continued to pile up, God faithfully brought me through them one by one. He comforted, encouraged, and healed me, even though many times I was in so much pain I could not even sense His presence. At least four times in my life I thought, 'That's it. I'm not going to make it through this.' Obviously, I was wrong. God is faithful indeed."
Is your heart wounded. Are you suffering inside? Are you grieving?
Soul Cry was written for you.
Let your soul cry out.

- Grief Walk: Experiencing God After the Loss of a Loved One: God and Grief Series, #1
1
Grief Walk is a 2021 Book Excellence Award Winner. A loved one dies. Your world is upended. The emotional pain can be intense. Your heart begins asking questions. "Am I going crazy? Am I going to make it? Where is God in all this?" Many of the people around you don't know what to say or do. They utter cliches and platitudes. "It's okay. You're strong. You'll get through this." You need something more than this - far more. You need to know that it's okay to hurt, to be sad, and to grieve. You need to know that you're not crazy and that your grief is "normal." You need to know that you're not alone in this. You need to know that you will get through this, even though you will not be the same person you were before. Most of all, you need the comfort of God's presence. You need to experience his compassion and love. You need to know he is walking with you in your pain and grief. And that's what Grief Walk is all about. Multiple award-winning author, speaker, hospice chaplain, and grief specialist Gary Roe has become a trusted voice in grief recovery who has been bringing comfort, hope, and encouragement to wounded hearts for more than three decades. A former missionary and pastor, Gary knows the spiritual questions that tug at your heart during this time of loss. Loss invaded Gary's life early. His childhood was riddled with sexual abuse, bullying, disappointments, failures, deaths, estrangements, and divorce. He grew up feeling damaged, sad, and lonely. He was functionally orphaned by the time he was 15. Gary wondered if he was going to make it. He said to himself, "If this is what life is like, I must find a way to handle the hits that come. Then, I must find a way to use the pain for good, or else what is this all for? God, only you can do this. If you don't, I'm history." The losses kept coming. Some were deep and even debilitating. Over time, they piled up and threatened to crush Gary's heart. "Even in my darkest moments, God was there, embracing me in my pain and whispering to my wounded heart. He kept me alive. He has led me through the valley of the shadow of death many times. He continues to bring healing to my injured soul, though never quite in the way I ask for or anticipate. And, true to his loving nature, he continues to take my losses and use them for good, in my life and in the lives of those around me." God meets us in our pain and embraces us. He journeys with us through the emotional upheaval, mental confusion, physical distress, spiritual questioning, and relational changes. Jesus has personally experienced more pain, suffering, and grief than we can fathom. He knows. He gets it. He is the best grief companion imaginable. Grief Walk is designed to be read one chapter a day. Consider it a grief devotional. Take your time. Open your heart. Be honest about your thoughts and emotions. Allow Jesus to meet you in each day's reading. God is with you in your pain and grief. He loves you where you are, as you are. If you're willing, He will bring healing and growth to your broken heart. He will somehow use this loss for good in your life and in the lives of those you touch. Let the Grief Walk begin...
- Broken Walk: Experiencing God After the Loss of a Child: God and Grief Series, #3
3
The death of a child is shocking, crushing, heartbreaking, traumatic, and unbelievably painful. The people around you don't know what to say. They end up saying what they've heard others say. Perhaps they mean well, but clichés do nothing for a grieving parent or grandparent's heart. Such platitudes only belittle your loss and your pain. You need something more than this—far more. You need to know that it's okay to hurt, to be sad, and to grieve. You need to know that you're not crazy and that your grief is "normal." You need to know that you're not alone in this. And most of all, you need the comfort of God's presence. You need to experience His compassion and love. You need to know He is walking with you in your pain and grief. And that's what Broken Walk is all about. A trusted voice in grief recovery, bestselling author and grief specialist Gary Roe has been bringing comfort, hope, and healing to wounded hearts for more than three decades. A former missionary, pastor, and hospice chaplain, he has walked with thousands of grieving parents and grandparents through the deep valley of child loss. Gary wrote Broken Walk as a companion for you on this painful, exhausting journey. Broken Walk is essentially a grief devotional, designed to be read one chapter a day, though you do not have to read it that way, of course. God meets us in our pain and embraces us. He walks with us through the emotional pain, mental confusion, physical distress, spiritual questioning, and relational changes. As we walk this road, we will feel broken, perhaps even shattered. How could we not? Jesus personally experienced more pain, suffering, and grief than we can fathom. He knows. He gets it. He is the best grief companion imaginable. The valley of child loss is deep and dark at times. Be kind to yourself. Take your time. Open your heart. Let the Broken Walk begin.
