If you like westerns based on the Indian nations, this is for you. Very detailed and historical, and a very interesting ending.

20 year old Becky Barrett has fled New York after murdering her heavy handed father, and finds herself at Choteau's Trading Post on the Kansas River. She meets mountain man Josh Walker, who takes her to the west where she meets Jake Stanton, Dan McNeil, Cole Randall, Randall's nemesis Josiah Cannon, Right Hand Johnson, "Fat" McHugh, and a few others you may recognize from my other mountain man novels. A martial arts expert and a crack shot, Becky sets out to make a life for herself in the Rockies, with the goal of someday owning her own trading post. Nothing can stand in her way; not blizzards, Indian raiding parties, crooked post owners, or her own haunted conscience.

Becky, Snow Star, and the mountain men return to continue the seemingly endless battles with the British Army and the Chouteau family. There is a killer on the loose to complicate things, and he is after settlers. Snow Star gets a tutor, the Brits lose a large gold shipment, and Becky gets a disturbing look at herself. Lots of action and humor.

Becky and the mountain men return to take on the British army. Becky finds something so terrible in the Lewis Mountain Range even she can't believe it. Eventually, her discovery of this ancient place and what it contains helps them in the battles against the British invaders. Reverend Ronald Jackson arrives in the west, and the mountain men go to North Carolina to liberate his brother from a slave plantation. Lots of action, lots of humor.

Becky, Snow Star, and the mountain men return to take on a new challenge. A long series of odd events leads Becky to the ultimate source, Washington D.C, where she discovers a sinister plot to take over the west and kill off the tribes. Andrew Jackson visits the post, and King William IV agrees to visit America.

Becky and the Mountain Men take on the United States Army, clean up St. Louis, and penetrate the veil of secrecy surrounding a shadow government in this latest edition.

Becky has a plan for the railroad, and it may be something she can't survive. Setting it in motion is not as easy as she thinks it will be.....carrying it out may be the end of her. First of two parts.

Becky receives a visitor from a place she never even knew existed, and it has a dramatic effect on her life. The Washington DC police pursue Peter Wilson, as do Greek bakery owners who do not like the idea of Becky's new pie factory. Both receive some justice they never dreamed of. Tension builds as Becky contemplates the government's plan to build the transcontinental railroad.

Becky returns to battle the railroads and other forces that want the Indians out of the way. Snow Star begins to learn about the law, which results in a major victory for the west. The battle continues, and near the end of this installment, Becky sees something in the sky she cannot comprehend or understand. It turns out to be something that will change her life forever in installment 8.

Becky's school receives a new crop of kids, even worse than the last bunch. Lauren Lane is pushed to her limits trying to teach the little felons, the worst of which is Lonnie Lindstrom, a cute little blonde with pigtails and a murderous streak. The government makes its first move against Becky's railroad, and learns a valuable lesson.

Becky and the Mountain Men continue to fight over the railroad, and a new threat arrives in the form of something otherworldly living in Flathead Lake. Becky starts a restaurant chain, and has a very interesting encounter with a cow.

School teacher Lauren Lane arrives, and takes on the task of educating a pack of unbelievably badly behaved settlers' kids. The results aren't exactly what either of them planned on. Lots of humor, some violence, adult language
