About this series
I wrote this book with the hope that you will take to heart all I have to say here about your smile and your teeth. I've been aware of how important my teeth and my smile are ever since my two front teeth were broken off when I was 9 or 10 years old.
The result of that accident was that I've had to wear false teeth (a denture) ever since that happened. Wearing a denture forced me to focused my attention on my teeth, and my smile in a way that made me take very good care of my remaining natural teeth ever since that happened.
I've discovered most people do not want to talk about teeth or visits to the dentist. But, here in this book, I talk about teeth so you will think about taking good care of your teeth...now! I hope reading what I have to say here about teeth, dentists and dentures will make you realize how very precious and valuable a healthy set of natural teeth can be.
In other words, the money you spend to keep your natural teeth as healthy as possible is money well spent. If you ever have to buy dentures so you can eat comfortably three times a day, you will discover just how very expensive and life changing dentures really are: eating and chewing food becomes a problem; smiling is different; learning how to talk with a mouth full of dentures is a problem; even sneezing and coughing and kissing present unimagined problems for all denture wearers. In short, this book will help you be aware of those problems in advance.

3
Teeth After you get your second set of natural teeth - after your "baby teeth" fall out,- you must learn to take care of those new natural teeth during the rest of your life. If you don't take care of them, by having regular treatments by your dentist, you know what will happen...those natural teeth will either fall out or your dentist will remove them. At that point your life will change. Why? Because you will then have to wear dentures for the rest of your life. Dentures change your life in many unexpected ways. Let me say that again: After some or all of your natural teeth are removed and dentures are put in your mouth you immediately realize your life has changed dramatically . For example: you soon discover you have to learn new ways to: chew, what to eat, what not to eat and how to keep your dentures in place when you chew, sneeze, talk, cough, smile and kiss. In short, oral concerns will take over your life as you are forced to learn to cope with and keep control of your dentures. The chapters in this book are designed to let you scroll through them and look up answers to many of the questions about: dentists, dentures, teeth, oral health, mouth sores and pain caused as a result of wearing a denture in your mouth for the rest of your life.Terry Talks Series this is # 3 of 4.
- Living With Dentures
50% Of Today’s Senior’s Wear Dentures! Try to be part of that other 50% that does not wear dentures... avoid the expense and major changes to your daily life. Now, while you still have your natural teeth is the time to pay your dentist to maintain your natural teeth so you will save money and avoid the change in your life that is caused when you may need to buy and wear very expensive dentures! Suggestion: Don’t read this book from cover to cover. Instead, look at the list of chapter titles and then choose one or more chapters that seem to answer your immediate questions or solve your current ”teeth” problems. Then, read only those chapters. In other words, use this book as your personal “oral health care” reference book. Why I wrote this book As a long-time denture wearer myself, I have been researching and writing about teeth, dentist and dentures for about ten years. My first purpose is to try to educate people about the constant need to take good care of their natural teeth. I want to do this because I have had about seventy-four years (74) of experience with the many problems I had when wearing a denture in my mouth. You see, when I was about nine or ten years old my two front teeth were accidentally broken and knocked out. Ever since then I have worn a denture every day (27,000+ days) of my life. Therefore, I’ve had lots of experience with denture problems. What I have done in this book is to try to pass along to you as many helpful suggestions about dentures as possible. Of course, I also have a second purpose. About seven or eight years ago, around 2005, I was fed up with denture problems and I made up my mind to find the most practical way I could think of to help future denture wearers everywhere have the most comfortable dentures possible. I decided to put my natural inventive ability and talents to work to invent a new low cost and better kind of denture liner. It was not an easy task. I did lots of extensive research. I tried this and I tried that. I tested all of the commercially available denture liners at the time. I asked my dentist and others for their help and opinions. I asked several dentists what was their advice about wearing dentures, every one of them said: “I don’t wear a denture so I cannot give you any advice.” I even tried the very expensive re-liner procedures that dentists always suggest to solve the loose denture problem. In addition, tried and experimented with as many compounds as I could to solve what I call the: loose, uncomfortable denture problem. The result of all of my research and experimentation about dentures is that I now I know what you and I need as denture wearers to have more comfortable dentures for the rest of our lives. The answer is to solve the basic requirements for comfortable dentures and they are: (1) Support (2) Stability (3) Retention. I have now invented (Patent Pending) the brand new Weber Denture Liner. It is: always soft, flexible, mold-able, tasteless, not affected by temperature changes, long lasting and re-usable after daily rinsing with plain water. In early 2000 I established my personal comfort products website (Originals By Weber) and have been using that location to tell people about my new denture liner invention ever since then. In fact, this book is an extension of my effort to “get the word out “ and let people know that their dentures can now be much more comfortable, stable, supported and have better retention for the rest of their denture wearing lives. What you will read in this book is a compilation of my articles and knowledge, after years of study, about dentists, dentures and teeth plus the history of dentistry that goes all the way back to the Stone Age.
