Description

Welcome to the top women's rugby news for June 21-27. It was a huge week for 7s, the Black Ferns, USA, and Russia all took home trophies for Oceania 7s, Quest for Gold 7s and the Europe 7s Championships.

In more 7s news, Kenya was replaced by Mexico for the USA event and instead entered their Olympic pre-departure bubble. Reuters listed their five players to watch ahead of Tokyo and the list includes Australia's Charlotte Caslick and New Zealand's Portia Woodman among three other male athletes.

In XVs news, DHL Western continues at the top of South Africa's Premier Division but there was movement in the middle of the table with EP Queens besting Boland for third this week, in Round 2 of Australia's Super W, the Brumbies lead Pool A and Waratahs lead Pool B. The Walleroos also announced that their two-Test series against Samoa has been postponed due to travel restrictions for COVID.

In "Other News", we look at what WRCRA coaches are reading this summer and we're obsessed with the Telegraph's new article with England’s Shaunagh Brown and Ugo Monye on why rugby must leave it's past behind.

We close out the week with 6 features and 7 media.
