England handled Scotland 57-5, France had a slow start but won 39-6 over Italy and newly semi-professional Wales upset Ireland 27-19. England and France looked mostly like their old selves with a few more knockons than normal but Wales used their bench to put away a feisty Irish side.
Speaking of upsets, attendance records at all three venues were shattered, France had over 13,000 people in Grenoble, Ireland had over 6,000 in Dublin and Scotland had their largest home crowd ever. We’re still waiting to hear about TV and streaming audiences.
Canada released their independent review which concluded among other things that they are a "dysfunctional organization at odds with its athletes, staff and supporters" while the Daily Mail reported allegations against the Welsh Rugby Union of allowing a "culture of sexism and misogyny".
