He is married to his wife, Sara, and they have two boys, Ayden, age 9, and Owen, age 7. Adam began his leadership journey as a boy by earning his Eagle Scout rank with the Boy Scouts of America. Adam is a graduate of the University of Central Missouri, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. He graduated Summa Cum Laude, earning a cumulative GPA of a perfect 4.0, and being honored with the Charno Award for most outstanding male in the graduating class. After graduation in 2007, Adam began work in Independence, MO by taking a position as a paraprofessional at Independence Academy, within the Independence School District. While working for the school district in 2008, Adam pursued his life-long dream of becoming a police officer by applying with, and being hired by, the Independence Police Department. After being hired, Adam attended and graduated from the Kansas City Regional Police Academy, where he earned the award for Class Valedictorian. After graduating the academy, Adam began his career as a patrol officer. In 2014, Adam was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. In 2015, Adam served as the training coordinator for the police department. In 2016, in addition to his regular duties, Adam was appointed as the Family Support Officer, where he was tasked with coordinating all serious injuries and line of duty deaths for the Police Department. In 2017, Adam was promoted to the rank of Captain. As a captain, Adam commanded a shift within the Patrol Division. On August 8, 2022, after 14 years of continuous service, Adam was named as the Chief of Police Independence, Missouri Police Department, where he proudly continues his service today.
