Description
Century Club is your weekly shot of what's new in music. Every week, the Tunes & Tumblers team bring you a mini pairing of a recent release and a craft shooter to keep your quarantine interesting. Make all the shots to enter the esteemed club yourself.
We're back, fam! All the way back to the mid-80's to celebrate the latest nostalgic club bop from chameleonic pop prodigy Charli XCX. Her latest single "New Shapes" features the one-two punch of powerhouse singers Christine and the Queens and Caroline Polachek and we have the perfect pregame shot to get you off the couch and onto the dancefloor.
Because the news is too depressing nowadays, we've kept the TnT network station shuttered and instead are turning to the comforting world of the written word with our new segment Bands and Bookmarks. Ryan chooses a book for our reading pleasure and leads us on an informative, strange, and utterly hilarious journey. Up first, we dive into Ryan Werner's zine "Brainwashing Miss Teen Nosebleed USA: A Book of One Sentence Album Reviews." I think that title says it better than we can.
Stick around to the second half of the episode for an exclusive interview with LA pop punk artist Crooked Teeth. We talk the catalog of pop punk that defined the childhoods of geezers like us along with his upbeat, headbanging new single "First World Problem." Tune in not just for the talk, but for the song in its entirety. Lock the door and jump on the bed surrounded by Paramore and My Chemical Romance posters. Cheers!
