Description

You can't heal what you don't feel.

When I had my first son I went through intense postpartum depression. I was angry with everyone & no one at the same time. I couldn't believe that I had been whiplashed in such a severe way. “Cloud 9” & "newborn bliss" were nowhere near what I experienced and I had never heard anyone say anything other than lightly mentioning “baby blues” to which I had no context/understanding.

If I could go back in time I would give myself the gift of the book our guest on today's show wrote- “Dear Mama Bear With The F*cked Up Hair”.
Jo Dodd is a coach and author who writes books for kids and their adults! After a 6-month furlough in 2020, Jo took a bold leap, stepping away from a 25-year career in Corporate America, to launch Jotopia Productions, LLC, where she writes content that focuses on the power of positive thinking, embracing diversity and crushing fear.

As a Mom to four boys and having battled a deep depression for many years, Jo is passionate about shining a light for any 'Mama Bears' struggling with the ever-increasing pressures of motherhood. Jo has a one-of-a-kind picture book for Moms available on pre-order now that tells an authentic, poignant, dark, sometimes humorous story of motherhood.

We are all so filled with the resilience and capacity to weather the most intense of storms and Jo & I talk about what it means to continue to find light through feeling the dark.
