Heavy snow over parts of the Northeast and snow over parts of theAppalachians on Sunday.Scattered rain/freezing rain over parts of eastern New York State intoSouthern New England.Temperatures will be 15 to 25 degrees above average over parts ofNorthern/Central High PlainsLow pressure over the Central Appalachians/Mid-Atlantic moves eastward offthe Mid-Atlantic coast by Sunday evening. The system will produce rainover the Ohio Valley to the Mid-Atlantic, and showers and thunderstormswill develop over parts of the Coastal Mid-Atlantic into Florida.Also, snow will develop from parts of the Ohio Valley/Lower Great Lakes toNew England as the precipitation shield moves into colder air on Sunday.Heavy snow will develop over parts of eastern New York State into NorthernNew England, while pockets of rain/freezing rain will develop from partsof eastern New York State into Southern New England. Snow will alsodevelop over parts of the Central/Southern Appalachians. The rain mainlyends by Monday morning while snow lingers across parts of the Lower GreatLakes into New England and the Central/Southern Appalachians into Mondayevening.Meanwhile, on Sunday, upper-level ridging will aid in producingtemperatures 15 to 25 degrees above average over parts of theNorthern/Central High Plains. Furthermore, moisture streaming into thePacific Northwest and Northern California will produce rain over parts ofthe region through Monday morning. Overnight Monday, moisture will returnto the Olympic Peninsula, creating rain over parts of northwesternWashington State.Elsewhere, overnight Monday, a developing front over the Great Lakes willcreate light snow and scattered rain over parts of the Upper MississippiValley and Upper Great Lakes.
