Description

Nat chats with Amanda Holman, mom to 4-year-old boys plus a 6-year-old singleton boy, about her twins' sensory processing disorder. Sensory processing disorder (SPD) is a condition that affects how your brain processes sensory information, including things you see, hear, smell, taste, or touch. SPD can affect all of your senses, or just one. SPD usually means you're overly sensitive to stimuli that other people are not. Amanda shares what she did to get her sons the help they needed through early intervention.Today's episode is sponsored by Boiron SleepCalm Kids. Amanda is the Director of College, Career, and Military Readiness for a school district in San Antonio, Texas. She spent 10 years teaching high school before moving to her current role. Amanda holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Agricultural Education from Tarleton State University and a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University - Kingsville. Although her professional life revolves around students, education, and developing leaders, she claims that it, in no way, prepared her for twin parenting. In her limited amount of spare time, Amanda enjoys watching Bryson play baseball, chasing her boys around their home, and spending time camping in their RV. Especially if they don't have twins. You are killing it! 2) Live in the moment. They are only this little today. So let the house be messy and the laundry pile up while you play. 3) Pick your battles, especially with twins! Sometimes the 5 minutes of quiet and coffee is worth the 30 minutes to clean them up after playing in the mud!CONTACT USVISIT Twiniversity.com for tons of free twin tips!FOLLOW us on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, and Twitter.SUBSCRIBE to our email newsletter!Take a class!
