Joe & Joe Weather Show Tuesday August 31, 2021 The circulation of Ida remains very impressive on satellite and radar loops this evening. Rain is spreading northeast through the Central Appalachians and will move into parts of the Northeast and Northern Mid Atlantic states. Up to 6 inches of rain is possible in some area. In addition the Storm Prediction Center has placed areas from Northern Virginia to Southern New England in severe weather risk. A rare 10% risk for tornadoes is indicated from Southern New Jersey to Maryland and the Delmarva Peninnsula. We will also be lookling at the Labor Day holiday weekend which appears to be mostly dry and no tropical storms or hurricanes are forecast to threaten the US over the weekend.
