On today's episode of Locked On Stars, Joey headlines with how the Stars will look without Jake Oettinger who suffered a lower body injury against Ottawa last Friday. We are expecting to get an update on the severity and possible time table for his return today. With Scott Wedgewood as the primary goalie, we're going to find out what the Stars made of during this stretch without Otter. Dallas has dropped to around middle of the pack in terms of goals against average which had been a huge strength of their play in recent seasons. They have been very inconsistent through the first 29 games, but have shown signs of dominating play like the 3rd period against St. Louis on Saturday. Part of the domination is when Miro Heiskanen and Thomas Harley are paired together. They rank the best pairing in Expected Goals percentage and Expected Goals For Per 60 minutes and rank 3rd in expected Goals Against per 60 minutes. Yes, having them play together may leave other pairs venerable, but not much else has worked out throughout the year so you mine as well see what you have with those two. It may solve short term issues until they get reinforcements. The final segment is a preview of the Seattle Kraken, the first meeting between the two teams since they met in the playoffs last year that saw the Stars win in seven games. The Kraken are struggling out of the gate, but have a combination of speed and physicality that has given the Stars their own set of problems this season. Drop your predictions!
