MLB was shaken last week as Shohei Ohtani news came out with his $700M contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The baseball world was again taken aback when details of the deferments became public. The shock was that Shohei will be paid $2M each year (counts as $46M for CBT purposes), then gets paid $68M a year for 10 years. Is this bad for small market teams?
