The Rays have made a signing during the Winter Meetings 2023 by signing free agent and familiar face, Chris Devenski. As per Rays beat writer Marc Topkin of the TB Times, "The 33-year-old right-hander will get $1 million this coming season, with the chance to earn another $200,000 in incentives; if the Rays pick up his option, he gets up to $3 million in 2025 based on incentives and escalator clauses. The buyout on the option, also based on incentives, is $100,000, $200,000 or $250,000."
Erik Neander, baseball operations president said, “Just looking ahead, somebody that I think can fit our pitching puzzle in a variety of ways. Certainly has the experience of the single-inning use and has an openness and interest in getting stretched out a little bit."
