Matthew (he/him) and Jo (they/them) join “The Maquis” as we welcome the introduction of this consequential group in Star Trek, we debate if The Maquis as portrayed in this episode are simply Call of Duty cosplaying libertarians and we appreciate the complexity of Dukat and his relationship with Sisko in this episode and looking forward to the rest of the series. We also spend some extra time discussing settler and colonialist ideologies and how they are expressed by The Federation and The maquis.
