Description

Bula, Ma’lelei, Talofa and Welcome to Season 07 Episode 32 of Breakfast Bites, by TeivovoSports.com – a wrap of Pasifika people’s sports news, on a bright and sunny Thursday morning 02 November 2023.Coming to you with tons of hanisi from the 180th meridian in the middle of the Blue Continent. In rugby union: We’re counting down to the annual Oceania Rugby 7s Championship at Brisbane’s Ballymore Stadium on 10 – 12 November. In the Men’s Pool A: New Zealand, Fiji and Australia have already qualified for the Paris Olympics 2024 7s rugby, so Niue and an Oceania team are just practice games. The real competition is in the Men’s Pool B where Samoa plays Solomon Islands, Cook Islands, American Samoa and Tuvalu. And in Pool C headed by Tonga, with Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Kiribati and Nauru. The winner of these two pools will clash for the trip to Paris. In rugby league: The majority of the Broncos will remain for 2024, although the loss of strike centre Herbie Farnworth and rep prop Thomas Flegler will hurt, although young stars like Reece Walsh and Ezra Mam should be better for the experiences of last season.Kevin Walters will have his work cut out to ensure his side find another gear now that they have a huge target on their heads. In football: Saudi Arabia’s path to hosting the FIFA World Cup 2034 is clear after its main competitor, Australia, decided not to bid for the event. Australia’s exit made Saudi Arabia the sole bidder for 2034, with Tuesday’s deadline for any other countries from the Asian and Oceania Football Confederations to submit formal bids.A joint Australian bid with Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore was floated as a possibility but ultimately never materialized.Due to Saudi Arabia’s extreme heat, the 2034 tournament will likely be the second-ever winter World Cup, following Qatar 2022’s move from the traditional summer timeslot. In combat sports: British heavyweight David Adeleye caused controversy on the Fury-Ngannou undercard by punching the Referee in the stomach.Adeleye gave the third man in the ring, John Latham, a wallop for his trouble as the official stopped the contest against Fabio Wardley in round seven. In the immediate aftermath, Adeleye admitted he was unhappy with Lathom’s timing, despite being down and on the verge of losing anyway.I’m pissed off that the Referee stopped me. I was still there. Give me another ten seconds. “I’ve never been down. I just about beat the count.”Yeah right - the British Boxing Board of Control is yet to comment on the incident. And that’s a wrap! For TeivovoSports.com I’m Culden Kamea – please hit the like and subscribe buttons below if you want to receive more Pasifika sports highlights on Breakfast Bites.Mahalo, Kakite and tank you all too mas for all your love and support.#TEIVOVORugby #TEIVOVODigital #TeivovoRugby #TeivovoDigital #rugby #rugby7s #FijiRugby #rugbyunion #rugbyleague #Raka #team #rugbytraining #sports #FRU #Fiji #womensrugby #rugbygirls #wrugby #ladiesrugby #womeninsport #woman #rugby #rugby7s #FijiRugby #rugbyunion #rugbyleague #fitness #weightlifting #training #team #rugbytraining #sports #rakavi #DevelopmentFiji
