You stay up thinking about these goals, working on them often, finding strategies to make them a reality, jumping over hurdles to get to them. Time passes without you noticing, and you become overcome with a sense of pride.However, when we set goals based on external forces, such as family, friends, social media and so on, you have a hard time staying focused. You can feel lost, stuck, confused, overwhelmed and it's generally difficult to achieve even the smallest of goals.
