Description

Ep. #31 - If you need to know how to get a grant you need to listen to this. SJ Stephens will tell you what works and what doesn’t work. She explains what to say and what not to say to a funder. As an advocate for underserved people and communities, SJ has an extensive background in both Law Enforcement, having served as a Police Officer for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (2010) and Nonprofit Program Leadership in the St. Louis area. In 2016, she made the transition from Foster Care Case Manager to Director of a nonprofit agency that assisted women reentering society after incarceration. SJ brings a wealth of knowledge, skill, compassion and the innate desire to serve. Her life’s purpose has always been to see others rise above their circumstances. She’s an optimist, she sees the good in all things and doesn’t believe in bad days...She is a nurturer, by nature. It is that combination of personal motivation, professional achievements, and educational accomplishments; that makes her the perfect woman to take your nonprofit to the next level.  Website: www.sjsbusinessbuilding.com LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/sj-shamara-stephens-ms-7560b334/ Vote: www.Vote.org Black Women Running for Congress: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/nbcblk/record-number-black-women-are-running-u-s-congress-n1234975 Black Men Running for Senate: https://www.axios.com/senate-2020-black-candidates-congress-0dfae0f2-5b11-47ca-8839-783c8533fb80.html
