Description
Ep. #3 - In one year, Darlene Lewis, the founder of Lewis Burnett Employment Finders helped 2000 ex-felons find employment. Ms. Lewis runs an organization dedicated to helping former inmates find jobs, preparation for interviews, and she advocates for them in court. This dynamic organization is based in Arkansas but Ms. Lewis will go whereever she's needed. She started Lewis Burnett Employment Finders when her son, who spent a short time in prison had trouble finding a job when we came home. She believes her son, like many of the men and women who've had this issue in their background are still good people. They made a mistake and shouldn't be penalized for the rest of their lives. Many come home to nothing, and often have to resort back to the same activity that got them in trouble in the first place. For many, it's about survival. Ms. Lewis is putting an end to that. "If someone doesn't step up to help them, they're going back to prison," she passionately explains. She believes God has given her this assignment and even with health challenges she refuses to quit. If she can keep going, so can a former inmate. You can contact Ms. Lewis on their Facebook page. She's currently seeking assistance with getting a website and office space.
