The Colorado Avalanche season is underway and you can already tell things have a different feel than a year ago.

The Avs leave LA with a 5-2 win over the Kings to start of their season, and overall things looked very good for the Avs, especially that top line of Mikko Rantanen, Nathan MacKinnon and Jonathan Drouin that we have been waiting to see.

While LA got themselves back into the game with a flukey late 2nd period goal, the Avalanche never relented to surrender the lead, something last year's team was all too familiar with.
