In recent days, Bruce Cassidy has spoken a lot about Jack Eichel's growth as a two-way player. So much so, that he wants Eichel to contend for the coveted Selke Award, given to the best defensive forward in the game. Eichel's chances have improved immensely since Patrice Bergeron retired. Bergeron won the award twice under Cassidy in Boston. Eichel needs to improve in the faceoff circle where he was a shade over 45% last season. He needs to improve by 5% on faceoffs. And, Eichel will be instrumental replacing Reilly Smith on the penalty kill this season.
