Empower is a verb...when you make someone stronger and more confident. Empowered as a noun mean to have the authority to make the decisions, the ability to take action. What a beautiful word, you're either helping someone or you are in control to drive action. Set clear expectations at work and define your role within the organization and ask for feedback. Look for an executive sponsor, someone who is in your corner and you can bounce ideas off of each other, the type of person who will advocate and promote you even when you're not there.
