VGK was very efficient in 5v5 last season. The Golden Knights are hoping the trend carries over this season. Did we overreact about the lack of power play scoring by VGK last season? Perhaps. VGK scored on 20% of its power play opportunities during the regular season. That improved to 22% in the playoffs. VGK was actually on average with the rest of the NHL, 21.3%. The Bruce Cassidy system is working, but the Golden Knights struggled somewhat on the power play. Perhaps those struggles were overblown.
