Description
My guest today is combat veteran and artillery gunner, Kelsi Sheren. Kelsi served in the Canadian army alongside American and British troops in Afghanistan. With an unsurprisingly turbulent reentry into the real world, Kelsi shares how she managed feelings of depression, anger, and suicidal thoughts. We discuss her journey to healing with the help of psychedelics and what it's like to go from soldier to wife, mother, and podcaster.
To say Kelsi is an intense fireball is an understatement, and she is on a mission to help as many people as she can who are suffering from trauma survive and thrive. Kelsi shared, 'Maybe if somebody had told me after my military operation it was OK to have the feelings, take time to work through them, and it was normal to have the reaction to what I had gone through versus putting me on eventually 11 medications, that could have been really helpful.'
After listening, make sure to check out her podcast, Brass and Unity. Enjoy!
