Description

Bo and the crew talk about who will be a breakout player at Ole Miss, the validity of the NFL Top 100 list, and conference realignment in the second hour of the show live in the BankPlus studio. The guys look at the NFL Top 10 players and Bo talks about how he thinks the top 10 should be all quarterbacks. Bo and the crew listen to audio from former Mississippi State player Chris Jones about how he thinks he should be in the top five and his disappointment on hearing otherwise. The guys look at the wide receivers and tight ends at Ole Miss and they wonder what are realistic expectations for a team without a true #1. BO wonders about possibilities for freshman Ayden Williams and what Memphis transfer Caden Prieskorn can do at the tight end position. The guys talk about who could make the biggest impact as a freshman at Mississippi schools between Suntarine Perkins at Ole Miss and Isaac Smith at Mississippi State. Dave Bartoo of the College Football Matrix joins the show on the Farm Bureau guest line talking about the gap betweeen Georgia and Alabama, the biggest winners of the conference realignment, and Egg Bowl predictions live in the BankPlus Studio. Dave uses his staffing analytics to look back at Nick Saban's staff from 2011 and talks about the group as the most talented staff from 2009 to 2023. Dave and Bo look at the staffing rankings today and see that Nick Saban does not even have a top 20 staff. Dave talks about Georgia closing the gap in the talent and staffing departments and how they are now the team to beat in the SEC. Bo asks who would be #3 in staffing and Dave gives a name that is not even in the conference...yet. Dave talks about the history of the SEC East and how the biggest schools in the division had down years at the easiest time to win. Bo and Dave talk about how Missouri coach Gary Pinkal was able to capture two SEC East titles while coaching the tigers. Dave uses the numbers to compare recruiting and staffing between Ohio State and Michigan in order to help predict the future matchups between the two. Bo asks Dave about what the numbers say pertaining to the Egg Bowl and the guys take into account all factors. Dave looks at the fact that Mississippi State has one of the youngest coaching staffs in the sport and Ole Miss has two superior play callers in Lane Kiffin and Pete Golding. Dave talks about both programs being pretty even and the excitement surrounding the game in 2023. Bo asks Dave to give his overall view on conference realignment and Dave talks about the fact that everything was done for money. He looks at the biggest winners and losers and talks about Oregon and Washington switching from being in a conference with 5 top 30 recruiters to a conference with 11. Dave looks at Utah and talks about how they will now be the #1 recruiter in teh Big 12 and the implications that could have for the College Football Playoffs.
