On Thursday the news became official that Colorado is headed back to the Big 12 after just over a decade in the Pac 12. The news has major ramifications for both conferences. When the Buffaloes make the move in 2024-25, as things stand now, the Big 12 will have 13 teams and the Pac 12 will have nine. Neither conference will be satisfied with those numbers and will certainly look to add. The problem for the Pac 12 is that the Big 12 will be looking to add more from their conference. Gonzaga and San Diego State announced a true home and home series beginning this season on December 29. Playing true campus home and home series is great for college basketball and needs to be the standard rather than the exception.
