Description

Catchy Jingles. Irish robots. Cheap Masks. Stonehenge. Fresh off killing Michael Myers in Halloween 2, John Carpenter wanted to take the Halloween franchise in a different direction. In a bold choice Carpenter decided to move the franchise from a serial killer stalking teens to a plot focused on Stonehenge-related Halloween masks killing children all over the world. To say this was taking a bold chance would be a massive understatement and it's safe to say that consumers at the time did not reward this gamble. Halloween 3: Season of the Witch released on October 22, 1982 to mixed-to-negative reviews and ended up making on $14 million in the box office. This number compared to the nearly $100 million the first two movies made in theaters effectively doomed the planned anthology series Carpenter had envisioned and the series has used Michael Myers as the main antagonist ever since. However, recently the movie has generated something of a comeback and is now starting to be looked upon as an underrated cult classic rather than a one-off mistake. Join the Texas Podcast Massacre crew as they yell out their favorite horror movie quotes and debate which one is more terrifying. Then the crew unmask their unsuspecting victim and dig really, really deep into the the Irish heritage celebration that is Halloween 3: Season of the Witch.
