Description

This is Delighted Motherhood, a podcast devoted to delighting ourselves in the Lord and enjoying our kids to the glory of God. The first podcast is coming soon! In it, we are going to explore what it means and what it doesn’t mean to be a delighted mom –specifically that a delighted mom is one who delights herself in the Lord and is helped by her church to enjoy the journey of motherhood. Not that she’s perfect or never overwhelmed. But while we wait, Today, Sunday the 27th of November is the first Sunday of Advent –a season of celebrating the birth of Christ and looking forward to when he will return a second time and make all things new. Advent has been observed by Christians since the fifth century. Head over to the Instagram account for a community discussion of fun advent practices with kids!If you have a way that you worship the Lord during the Christmas season with your kids, tag delighted motherhood on your post and I’ll repost it to the account. That way we can all benefit from lots of ideas to spur on worship of our Savior.Let’s pray that we delight ourselves in the Giver of every good and perfect gift who alone can enable us to love our kids with an affectionate love this holiday season.

The basis for this command comes not from the enjoyableness of the kids, but rather from devotion to and delight in the Lord himself.

Join Kira Nelson and a host of other moms in delighting in the Lord and in the callings he's given us through exploring a variety of practical topics related to enjoying motherhood.

Kira is a wife, a homeschool mom to three little boys, a Bible teacher, a seminary student at SBTS, a long-distance runner, a sourdough baker, a tea drinker, and a lover of all things outdoors. Most importantly, she's a Christian who is loved by her Savior and is captivated by His glory every day.
