The actor has also supported in numerous under-the-radar films like Ang Lee's war western Ride With The Devil, Michael Mann's sports biopic Ali, geopolitical thriller Syriana and Alaskan-set mystery Hold the Dark, along with in prestige TV series like Angels in America and Boardwalk Empire. In 2021, Wright will enter the character actor hall of fame when he plays Commissioner James Gordon in Matt Reeves' The Batman.
