This week we jumped into the world of competing magicians with Christopher Nolan’s The Prestige.This 2006 film is based on a novel of the same name where two rival magicians spend their lives trying to outdo each other with each one trying to create the better version of the same trick, ending with some deadly results. The entire film is built in the 3-act structure of a magic trick with the Pledge where you establish the ordinary, then move to the Turn where the ordinary becomes extraordinary, and finally reach the Prestige where the trick turns in unexpected ways and shows you something you’ve never seen before.What are your thoughts on the film?
