We are two-and-a-half months away from the 2023 NBA Draft, and it’s time to start looking at college prospects. First up: the likely highest college player selected, Alabama’s Brandon Miller. While Nick Smith, Jr. started the season as the likely highest college player taken, Miller’s ascendant freshman season catapulted him up Big Boards all over the nation.

UConn and Purdue both started the season unranked and ultimately rose to the top of the AP Poll. One became the 2023 National Champion, the other became the second-ever one seed to lose to a sixteen. What clues were in place to show that the ultimate outcomes were exactly were in place for both teams?
