Inside today's Locked on Canadiens

Hockey Night in Canada brought two pieces of potentially bad news, the first being that the Canadiens lost 5-1 to the Toronto Maple Leafs in a game where they again were extremely shorthanded in the lineup. The other being that Jeff Marek and others are reporting that it's expected to be a very quiet Trade Deadline for the Montreal Canadiens this year. The hosts break down what needs to happen to change that, or if the rebuild is going to be extended a bit longer thanks to this setback.

In the down section, the ever growing injury list continues to get larger with Arber Xhekaj taking a new seat and Sean Monahan's status still being up in the air. Scott also has some Montreal related thoughts, but not about hockey and instead centered around the finale to the Sami Zayn main event on Saturday night.

On the upside, Josh Anderson continues to bolster his trade value with a goal against Toronto, while Michael Pezzetta appears to be finding the form that made him so popular last year. Also to the surprise of absolutely no one, the prospects in the NCAA and QMJHL dominated the scoresheet once more, and find themselves in the spotlight for both hosts.
