Miami Dolphins Tales From The Deep

From 1979 to 1988, Glenn Blackwood was the quarterback of the Miami Dolphins defense, patrolling the secondary for the team’s “Killer Bees” defense, and hauling in 29 interceptions (tied for fourth place in team annals) and 12 fumble recoveries in 118 games played. Glenn was joined by his brother, Lyle, in the Fins’ defensive backfield for six seasons, as the duo was dubbed the “Bruise Brothers” for their play on the field and their hijinks off of it. The long-time strong safety was born in San Antonio, Texas and played at the University of Texas before being selected by the Dolphins in the eighth round of the 1979 NFL Draft.
