Description
The Miami Hurricanes might be getting defensive tackle Darrell Jackson back. In a wild turn of events, the Hurricanes have been recruiting Jackson, who recently announced he was leaving The U for the Florida State Seminoles, to spurn FSU in favor of a Miami return. Jackson had departed citing family reasons, but has not completed his enrollment process with Florida State. If Jackson comes back to Miami it would help the Canes fill a major depth need at defensive tackle. He started the entire 2022 season for the Canes.
Host Alex Donno recaps the twist and turns in the Jackson saga and explains why it appears Jackson was on Miami’s campus as recently as Saturday night. Donno discusses Miami’s progress with other defensive tackles like Kentucky’s Justin Rogers, Arkansas’ Isaiah Nichols and Purdue’s Branson Deen.
Donno wonders why Miami is having so much trouble landing outside wide receivers in the portal. Miami just missed out on Georgia State’s Jamari Thrash, who chose Louisville, while Dont’e Thornton of Oregon appears to be trending towards Tennessee. Meanwhile, Miami does not seem to be making much progress with Cal transfer J. Michael Sturdivant. Donno recaps excellent performances from Miami signees Mark Fletcher, Ray Ray Joseph and Samson Okunlola at the All America Bowl.
